About DigitalDecor
Our first foray into sublimation was in 1992, with transfer paper imported from Italy. We started digitally printing transfer paper for placement prints about 2001, but our dream of possibly digitally printing rolls fabric seemed a long way away. It wasn’t economical, because of the high cost of inconsistent and poorly performing consumables and inkjet printers were just not capable of producing commercial volumes of fabric at economically viable costs.
That all changed in 2003 with our first Mimaki JV4 printer, but it was not until 2004 that it finally became viable for us to digitally print paper and rotary transfer our clothing fabrics.
For the next 2 years we put in great effort to develop
efficient printing methods and to market our patterns, printing tens of thousands of metres every year.
We realised very early that there were a lot of other opportunities for digital sublimation printing. So in 2006 we purchased further equipment to increase and broaden our production capability, turning our attention towards
other areas. Including a 2250mm x 1600mm flat bed transfer press which has given us many opportunities not least 3500 garments for the New Zealand 2008 Olympic team.
In 2008 we installed state of the art direct to fabric sublimation printing equipment to supply our flag customers.
Since we have installed a grand format 2500mm printer and a 2600mm wide rotary press to be able to offer transfer sublimation to 2500mm wide, plus several more large format printers.
We also have 1600mm wide eco-solvent printer and a label and sticker cutter, and a 1600mm wide laminator.
In 2013 we moved to new premises giving us more room and room to grow. We now have an engineering workshop to manufacture our U-FRAME-IT and other display systems on site.
